Steel Plant Warehouse, Hamilton, Ontario
Ela Architects was retained by Empire Steel Inc of Hamilton, Ontario, as lead architect for their new 80,000 sqf (7432 m2) of new warehouse project.
Empire Steel has been one of the premier names in carbon steel products for over 25 years. While its core steel business has historically been export steel trading, they have now evolved into a more integrated steel solutions provider. As part of their business expansion goals they decided to add a new warehouse to their existing plant in Hamilton, Ontario. Ela Architects Inc took the leadership role in this project from start to finish.
The project is to construct a one storey, 7,432 square metre building to be used for warehousing purposes. The proposed building will be located in the northeast corner of the property. The site currently contains steel manufacturing plant, storage and warehousing use.
